Python is a great programming language and I’d recommend it to anyone who’s starting out and wondering what all this programming malarkey is all about. Beware Python 3.x though. There were many changes made between Python 2.x and 3.x some of which mean that programmes written for earlier versions will not work on Python 3.x. There is a programme called 2to3 which is bundled with Python 3.x that “converts” old code to Python 3.x code. The problem is it doesn’t really work and everything that I’ve tried it on remains broken. “Why can’t you just write everything in Python 3.x”, I hear you ask. Because I’m trying to use some classes and libraries that were written by other people in older versions and haven’t been released in the new version yet.

No Python media player yet, then…
