As far as I can tell Microsoft access is designed to be used by masochists. For example, suppose you want to make a 6-page report. Should be fairly easy, right? Just make a report stick 5 page breaks in and you’re done, surely? No. There’s a seemingly arbitrary height limit of 22″ on reports. You’ll have to make a few individual reports, lets say one for each page, and then insert them as subreports into a main report. And then set the “can grow” attribute to true so that they fill the available space. Or you could write a macro that combines them.
I guess it must make sense to someone, somewhere. Maybe it’s a technical limit from earlier versions that’s been carried over to the new versions. Maybe Microsoft are a group of sadists. Who knows?
